Information About The Eye Examination

■ Visiting the Shinjuku LASIK Clinic and undergoing an eye examination will determine whether you are suitable for laser vision correction and/or another type of treatment which would be most suitable for you.
The first visit to the clinic will require you to undergo an eye examination which will take about 2 to 2.5 hours, which also includes a consultation and will be free of charge. Please keep in mind that the data of your eye exam is only valid for 3 months, so the day of your treatment should be within 3 months after the suitability eye examination.

Please note if you wear soft contact lenses you will be required to wear glasses for 3 days prior to the eye-exam (2 weeks for hard contact lenses, 1 week for toric (astigmatism) lenses), to avoid having any contact with the surface of the cornea.
Please do not drive on the day of the eye exam, as we will use eye drops to dilate your pupils for the eye exam and your vision will continue to be blurry for about 3 to 4 hours.

Generally, post-operative check-ups require visitations for the next day, 1 week, 1 month and 3 months after the treatment day. *Our doctor may request additional check-ups if needed.

Shinjuku LASIK Clinic’s basic refractive surgeries are to correct Myopia (nearsightedness), Hyperopia (farsightedness) and Astigmatism.
We also offer Intraocular lens/Cataract and ICRS procedures.

■ Profile of a Suitable Candidate for LVC (Laser Vision Correction):
* Over 18 years old with a stable prescription for glasses or contact lenses for at least two years.
* No eye diseases or conditions that would hinder the healing process, such as taking certain medications or autoimmune disorders, etc.

For women: You should not be pregnant or have been breastfeeding within the past 3 months, at the time of surgery.
